Mock Drafts

No I am not going to give you a mock draft. I think mock drafts are pretty ridiculous and all this analysis of the draft and who is going to go where and why is really getting out of control (and yes I blame ESPN). Now don’t get me wrong, I like reading mock drafts as much as the next person because well they are entertaining, but I don’t put any stock in what any of the mock drafts say. Why not? Well look at them and how they compare to the actual draft. Most mock drafts are off after a couple picks and then it just snowballs and they end up getting 95%+ of the picks wrong. I compare mock drafts to picking a Super Bowl winner in March, you pretty much are taking a shot in the dark and have no idea what is really going to happen. Another problem with the draft is the instant analysis that happens afterwards and teams are deemed to have had a great or terrible draft. Again no one actually knows until you see these players get on the field and see if they can perform or not. So please everyone stop going crazy about mock drafts and lets just relax, watch the draft, and hope your team doesn’t end up screwing it up, because that’s all we can really hope for.

About Me

I started playing football at age 11 and played all the way through college (OK I was really a place kicker once I got to high school and college). I have always loved the NFL and football has always been my favorite sport. I grew up a die hard Steelers fan, even though I lived near Philadelphia, since my entire family roots for the Steelers. That being said I think I am a very unbiased person when it comes to analyzing the NFL. As a Steelers fan of course I hate the Ravens and Patriots but I highly respect those two teams and the way they run their operations and succeed in the NFL (I am not going to lie, I love to see them fail and lose to the Steelers but I can respect them when they win). So why am I writing this blog? Because I think a lot of the analysts out there have no idea what they are talking about most of the time and just say controversial things just to say them, not because they believe them (Notice I said “a lot” and not “all” because there are some analysts out there with a good head on their shoulders). So now that you know my background lets get started breaking down what’s going on in the NFL.
